St. Kilda at the Guild

The Guild were entertained with a fascinating presentation on St. Kilda, an island group situated in the remotest part of the British Isles, 41 miles west of Benbecula in Scotland’s Outer Hebrides. Retired school teacher Jim Percival described the history of St. Kilda , the lifestyle of the islanders from the past to the present and spoke of his mother-in-law Flora Gillies (pictured below) who lived on St. Kilda as did generations before her.
